Wind Peaks is a cute and colorful "hidden objects" indie puzzle game that has us searching for tiny objects scattered across beautifully detailed hand-drawn locations.

The game follows a group of boy/girl scouts on their treasure-hunting trip. Traveling in an old minivan, they make forced stops at various locations to find ways that let them progress further.

At each location, our objective is to find a series of items amidst large accumulations of environmental objects and piles of junk.

Some items lie in plain sight, while others are hidden inside houses, boxes, or behind bushes and similar objects that we must tap or drag out of the way. Sometimes, we even need to perform a series of manipulations or solve puzzles to reveal items, such as providing a diver with flippers and a scuba tank so he can fetch us something from the lake.

What I didn’t like is that the item placements often seemed completely random, as opposed to following any understandable logic or even just common sense.

Fortunately, we can never get permanently stuck due to a clever in-game hint system. Tapping any of the items in our list starts a 2-minute timer that reveals the location of the item once it reaches zero. But since we can only have one timer running at a time, it's still much faster to find the needed objects ourselves than to rely on hints.

Wind Peaks is a $4.99 premium game without ads or iAPs.

Despite its somewhat repetitive scenery, it provided enough diversity to keep me entertained till the end of the game's first season. Hopefully, new chapters or games will be released in the future to finish the abruptly ended story.
