Remember: Room Escape is an atmospheric "escape the room" horror adventure game set in a surreal world produced by the mentally unstable subconsciousness of the main protagonist.
As the subject of a top-secret governmental rehabilitation program, we’re stuck within the deep corners of our own mind. Here, our goal is to escape a series of disturbing locations, solve puzzles, search for clues, and find the pieces of information that reveal the game’s dark plot.
The gameplay is fairly standard for the genre. We carefully scan through the scenes, tap on interactive objects, and collect useful items that must then be applied at appropriate places.
Some locations may be hard to navigate, and certain tasks seem a bit illogical, but thankfully, there is a thorough hint system that helps us get out of even the most hopeless situations.
What truly demonstrates the quality of the game, however, are its atmospheric and highly detailed rooms, creepy ambient sounds, the steady increase of suspense, and the intriguing story that pushes us toward a rather unexpected ending bit by bit. And attentive players that bother collecting optional pieces of data will be rewarded with a much more comprehensive understanding of the story.
Remember: Room Escape is a premium game that costs $3.99 on Android and $2.99 on iOS. It is also part of Google Play Pass, and a separate “Lite” version exists on both Android and iOS, although it’s full of ads that completely ruin the immersion. I highly recommend buying the premium version to enjoy this great adventure game.

Starman is an atmospheric point-and-click adventure full of isometric puzzles about carrying blocks to activate various machines and mechanisms. We don’t get to experience a traditional story - just a series of surreal worlds that we guide our character through while solving puzzles and opening passages to new worlds. The main game mechanic has us grab transparent cubes, imbue them with light, and then place them on special tiles to power up machines and mechanisms. Later levels introduce additional elements like valves, conveyor belts, levers, switches, and moving platforms. We control our character by simply tapping the screen to move and interact with the surroundings. The game features a minimalistic grayscale art-style with eerie music and scarce visual effects. Despite the simplicity, this creates an immersive atmosphere to dive into. Most of the puzzles don’t offer any significant challenge and are thus well-suited for relaxed casual play. However, the character moves a bit too slow for my taste and the timed sequences may frustrate some players – although not to the point of spoiling the gameplay experience.Starman is sold for $4.49 on Android and $3.99 on iOS, without ads or iAPs. It isn’t the best representative of the genre but demonstrates good production quality and will definitely appeal to fans of puzzle adventures.
MORE GAMES LIKE THISThe Enchanted World is a cute adventure game where we travel through beautiful low-poly locations, meeting colorful characters and solving sliding puzzles along the way to progress.
To save our home world from an unknown evil, our heroine ventures on a perilous journey accompanied by the spirit of her deceased elder. Thankfully, she wields a powerful magical staff capable of remotely interacting with the world around her.
Most of the time, we use this staff to slide square tiles around a grid placed in the environment to create paths that let us continue moving forward. However, these are thankfully not regular "sliding puzzles" since we shift the entire row or column of the grid every time we move it.
This means we won't have to deal with annoying situations where "two tiles need to switch places", which requires redoing the entire puzzle.
Each level introduces new and interesting gameplay mechanics, so I never got bored while playing. It is, however, possible to get stuck since some of the puzzles are very challenging – despite the childish look of the game.
The Enchanted World is free to try, with a single $4.99 iAP unlocking the full game. Unfortunately, you need to be online to play the game after you’ve bought it.
Despite this online requirement, the game demonstrates great production quality and will definitely appeal to puzzle fans.
MORE GAMES LIKE THISInked is an impressively beautiful point-and-click puzzle adventure set in an immersive world drawn on paper by a ballpoint pen.The game has us follow the story of a nameless hero and his beloved on their journey across an unfriendly world full of puzzles and deadly challenges. Armed with an ink pen, we manipulate our surroundings by dragging blocks and ledges, pushing buttons, traversing pits, and solving other mechanical puzzles, some of which require quick thinking and precise actions. During our journey, we are accompanied by an Artist, represented by a pair of hands, who provides us with useful objects to interact with, and a Narrator who adds a voice-over for the events happening on screen. While the game isn’t long and challenging, the breathtaking imagery, complex geometric shapes, beautiful relaxing music, and voiced narration creates an atmosphere of a surreal otherworldly adventure. While the puzzles aren’t difficult, dragging objects around the 3D space is challenging due to clunky controls and the fact that objects snap to a grid. For the completionists, there are also hidden objects scattered across the land, which we collect to unlock gallery art.Inked is a $3.99 premium game with no ads or iAPs. Despite its shortness, it provides a great puzzle-solving experience for anyone fond of high-quality point-and-click mobile games.
