Dungeons & Miners is a story-driven incremental action platformer where we mine for precious metals and gems in a randomly-generated monster-filled dungeon.By tapping either side of the screen to move and swiping up and down to scale ladders, we explore the world, talk to NPCs, solve quests, and eventually start our dangerous descent into the depths of a haunted mine.Here, we work the ore veins to collect resources and open doors to mysterious dungeons where dangerous monsters reside. Killing these using our attack and defend buttons provide us with valuable loot that increases our stats in typical RPG fashion, while metals and gems are used to upgrade our tools so they mine faster and hit harder.I liked the beautiful pixel-art imagery the game presents, its deep immersive atmosphere, and the careful attention to both large expositions and small details. I also enjoyed the interesting and humorous story that sets the mood for the entire journey. Unfortunately, the perspective quickly shifts from witty narrative to mindless grinding, and occasional story quests simply drown in the number of repetitive actions we have to commence. This is the game’s biggest downside.Dungeons & Miners costs $2.99 on iOS, with no ads or iAPs. On Android, the game is free and monetizes by occasionally showing forced ads on location transitions, which cannot be disabled via iAPs.In contrast to lots of other incremental games, it’s clear that lots of dedication has been put into Dungeons & Miners. And despite its inevitable repetitiveness, it’s decently entertaining for fans of the genre and anyone fond of beautiful pixel-art games.

Dungreed is an epic roguelite platforming RPG where we dash our way through a gluttonous labyrinth while fighting ghosts, skeletons, and minotaurs to restore civilization.The story of Dungeed is that our local hungry dungeon eats anything that gets too close to it, which includes our townsfolk, monsters, and hundreds of items. It’s our job to defeat the dungeon one floor at a time. Each room acts like an arena that locks us in until we beat all the enemies, after which we’re rewarded with gold and items. Throughout the dungeon floors, we will find random item slot machines, inns that we can eat at for health and buffs, and shops that sell gear. What really makes the game unique, however, are the many distinct weapon types that function in different ways, and the ton of accessories that add interesting buffs so every run feels fresh and original.A lovely quality-of-life feature Dungreed really focuses on is fast travel. Many rooms have small gates that we can jump between, and even in the overworld, we can hop between NPCs. The dashing and jumping-focused movement is great, and the touch controls are okay. But the game feels truly awesome when played with a controller that adds amazing control during combat. The only downside is that the auto-aim feature isn’t helpful while using the controller, and I found myself needing to tap the screen for some minor but necessary things. Dungreed is a $4.99 premium game without ads or iAPs, which makes it a fantastic pick-up. You really can’t go wrong with this game, as the gameplay is super fun, the pixel graphics look great, and the music is awesome.
